Social Influence and Meat-Eating Behaviour

In recent years, interest in non-meat diets has been growing at an exponential rate many countries. There is a wide consensus now that increased meat consumption linked to higher health risks and environmental impact. Yet humans are social animals. Even the very personal decision of whether eat or not influenced by others around them. Using data from British Social Attitude Survey, we develop agent-based model study effect influence on spread meat-eating behaviour population. We find crucial determining different behaviours. According model, order bring about large-scale changes behaviours national level, people need (1) have strong openness influences who (2) weak tendency reinforce their current after observing own group sharing same behaviour.
